Downloading Server Logs

The CDP Server logs all errors and diagnostics to one (1) of several log files. These messages include all the information that is also logged to a Host Task History. In addition, they contain detailed stack traces and messages related to any errors.

You can enable logging of the successfully restored files and folders.

The following log files are available:

  • server-log.txt - The main log file for the server.
  • monitor.log - The log file for the service monitor that listens to the heartbeats of the running CDP Server and logs the sources of all shutdown events.
  • Web-Request-Log-DATE.txt - The Apache style request log file for the Web Interface Server.

The default locations for CDP Server log files for each operating system are as follows:

  • Linux Installations - /usr/r1soft/buserver/log
  • Windows Installations - C:\Program Files\Righteous Backup\Backup Server\Log

Follow the instructions below to download Server Logs of your CDP Server for Tech Support.

1. Open the Web browser connecting to the CDP Server Web Interface and log in.

2. Click on "Options" in the Main Menu.

3. Click on "Tools" in the "User Options" Menu.

The "Tools" tab was labeled "Server Logs" in previous versions.

4. Click on the "Download Abbreviated Logs For Tech Support" or "Download Full Logs For Tech Support" link.

Now you have two (2) options for downloading logs for technical support. You can download either full or abbreviated logs.

You can check the "Crontab Status" (enabled/disabled) on this page. You can enable or disable Crontab. Cron is a time-based scheduling service in Unix-like computer operating systems. The Crontab files are where the lists of jobs and other instructions to the cron daemon are kept.
