History Screen

The "History" screen displays the log messages which describe task completion result. Here you can see the log messages for all hosts.

The "History" screen loads after clicking "History" in the Main Menu. See more descriptions in the Main Menu.

There are the following areas:

  • Filter panel - Used to define the criteria for displayed messages, set the view for the log messages list and allows you to download the log as a text file. Read more below.
  • Log Message List - Displays the list of tasks and the detailed information about task result. Read more below.
  • Task Log Messages Panel - The panel is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The panel shows the messages for the task selected from the list. Read more below.

Filter Panel

The filter can be applied to reduce the number of messages or select a group of messages by certain criteria. Click to download the Host history as a text file.

Filtering

You can filter the items in the Log Message List using the below criteria:

  • All Times - Select an item from the pull-down menu to filter the Log Message List. Default value is "All Times." You can select from:
    • All Times - Shows all log messages.
    • Last Hour - Shows only log messages occurred during the last hour.
    • Last 12 Hours - Shows only log messages occurred during last 12 hours.
    • Last 24 Hours - Shows only log messages occurred during last 24 hours.
    • Last 48 Hours - Shows only log messages occurred during last 48 hours.
    • Last 7 Days - Shows only log messages occurred during last 7 days.
    • Last 30 Days - Shows only log messages occurred during last 30 days.
    • Date Range - This item allows you to enter the necessary period for log messages:
      • Initial Date - Enter initial date of period manually or using Calendar. Default value is today.
      • Initial Hour - Enter initial hour from the pull-down menu (00, 01 - 23). Default value is "00".
      • Initial Minute - Enter initial minute from the pull-down menu (00, 01 - 59). Default value is "00".
      • Final Date - Enter final date of period manually or using Calendar. Default value is today.
      • Final Hour - Enter final hour from the pull-down menu (00, 01 - 23). Default value is "23".
      • Final Minute - Enter final minute from the pull-down menu (00, 01 - 59). Default value is "59".
  • Host Name - Using this field, you can apply the filter to any part of Host name. It is possible to display log messages associated with defined host(s). For example - using string "host1" you can find log messages for hosts: host10 and localhost1.
  • All CDP Servers - Select an item from the pull-down menu to filter the Log Message List. Default value is "All CDP Server." You can select from:
    • All CDP Servers - Shows all log messages.
    • There is a list of registered CDP Servers as a Cluster Node in the System. After selecting any CDP Server you will see only log messages associated with this CDP Server. 
  • Run By - Using this field, you can apply the filter to any part of User name. It is possible to display log messages for tasks ran by defined user(s).  For example - using string "admin" you can find log messages for tasks ran by users: admin1 and administrator.
  • All States - Select an item from the pull-down menu to filter the Log Message List. Default value is "All States." You can select from:
    • All States - Shows all log messages.
    • Finished - Shows only log messages associated with finished tasks - completed successfully and without errors.
    • Running - Shows only log messages associated with currently running tasks - started and not finished.
    • Queued - Shows only log messages associated with tasks that have been queued.
    • Cancelled - Shows only log messages associated with canceled tasks.
    • Error - Shows only log messages associated with tasks completed with one (1) or more errors.
  • All Types - Select an item from the pull-down menu to filter the Log Message List. Default value is "All Types." You can select from:
    • All Types - Shows all log messages.
    • There is a list of existing Task Types in the System. After selecting any Task Types you will see only log messages associated with this Task Types. See also Task Types.
      Notice
      After defining the filter parameters, click"Refresh" to apply the options.
  • Auto refresh - Select the check box to enable auto-refreshing of the Log Message List every 21 seconds.

Sorting

You can sort the Users table items by:

  • State
  • Type
  • Progress
  • Start time
  • Finish time (default value)
  • Run By

You can select order:

  • Ascending
  • Descending (default value)
    Notice
    Click "Refresh" to apply the sorting.

 Paging

You can define a number of user records to display on one page. To apply the changes, click "Refresh".


Click "Next page" or "Prev page" to turn over the pages.


You can type in the page number and click "Refresh" to go directly to the desired page.


Log Message List

Columns:

  • State - The state of the Task.
    See Task States.
  • Host - The name of the Host for which the task has been run.
  • Type - The type of the Host Task.
    See Task Types.
  • Progress - A bar displaying the progress of the Task.
  • Started - Time stamp of the date and time when the Task started.
  • Finished - Time stamp of the date and time when the Task was completed.
  • Scheduled Task - The description of the Scheduled Task.
  • Run By -The User that ran the Task or last edited the Scheduled Task.
  • Actions - Used to download the task-related messages as a text file.

Task Log Messages Panel

The messages can be filtered by using the "Log Messages Filter" to display the following types of messages:

  • All Log Messages
  • WARNINGS and ERROR Messages
  • ERROR Messages ONLY
