Disks
A Disk is a defined path or directory accessible by the CDP Server where Backup Data can be stored. This directory can be mounted or accessed using any available means supported by the underlying operating system.
For example, this includes storage systems using CIFS/SMB or NFS such as the following:
- Directly Attached Hard Drives
- RAID Subsystems
- ISCSI
- Fibre Channel
- NAS (Network Attached Storage)
Disk Paths
The Disk Path can be any valid path on the underlying operating system such as:
/mnt/mynfs
(Linux)
- or -
E:\foo or \\cifs-server\share
(Windows)
| Note On Windows, the CDP Server runs as a NT service and can not see mounted Network Drives. Also, on Windows you might need to configure the NT Service to run as a User with Windows domain credentials or permissions to access a directory or network share. |
