Downloading Server Logs

The Data Centers logs all errors and diagnostics to one (1) of several log files. These messages include all the information that is also logged to a Host Task History. In addition, they contain detailed stack traces and messages if there are errors.

You can enable logging of the files and folders successfully restored.

The following log files are available:

  • server-log.txt - The main Log File for the server.
  • monitor.log - The Log File for the service monitor that maintains heartbeats with the running CDP Server. Logs the sources of shutdown events.
  • Web-Request-Log-DATE.txt -The Apache style request Log File for the Web Interface Server.

The default locations for the Control Server Log Files for each operating system are as follows:

  • Linux /usr/r1soft/buserver/log
  • Windows C:\Program Files\Righteous Backup\Backup Server\Log

Follow the instructions below to download Server Logs in your Linux Control Server For Data Centers.

1. Open the Web browser connecting to the Linux Control Server Web Interface and log in.

2. Click on "Options" in the Main Menu.

3. Click on "Tools" in the "User Options" Menu.

New in Version 2.8: The "Tools" tab was labeled "Server Logs" in previous versions.

4. Click on the "Download Abbreviated Logs For Tech Support" or "Download Full Logs For Tech Support" link.

Now you have two (2) options to download logs for technical support. You can either download full logs or abbreviated logs.

You can check the "Crontab Status" (enabled/disabled) on this page. You can enable or disable Crontab. Cron is a time-based scheduling service in Unix-like computer operating systems. The Crontab files are where the lists of jobs and other instructions to the cron daemon are kept.
