The logging of messages to a Remote Syslog Server can be optionally enabled on the "Remote Syslog" page.
The following Remote Syslog options are available:
- Enable Remote Syslog - Select this check box to enable the Remote Syslog.
- Remote Syslog Server Host Name - Specify the Host Name or IP address of the Remote Syslog Server listening on UDP port 514.
- Remote Syslog Facility - You have the option to define the Syslog Facility. The facility is one of the following keywords: auth, authpriv, cron, daemon, ftp, kern, local0 through local7, lpr, mail, mark, news, syslog, user, uucp. The facility specifies the subsystem that produced the message, i.e. all mail programs log with the mail facility (LOG_MAIL) if they log using syslog.
- Remote Syslog Threshold - You have the option to define the Syslog Threshold. Only messages equal to or higher in priority to the Remote Syslog Threshold will be sent to the remote Syslog Server. Select "All" from the drop-down menu to log all Task Log Messages. Select "Warn" from the drop-down menu to log Messages that have "Error" and "Warning" state. Select "Error" from the drop-down menu to log only Error messages. Default value is "Info."
