Continuous Data Protection® Product Road Map
3.0 represents a COMPLETE re-architecture of our CDP products for Windows and Linux servers. We have decided to release 3.0 in phases because of the time it would take to hold out until a version would be released that would replace the rich feature set of 2.0
Each phase builds upon the core architecture. The CDP Server 2.0 product is not completely replaced with 3.0 until the release of 3.0 Enterprise Server. That said we know you will be blown away with what 3.0 is capable of and we want to let you use it as quickly as possible. Its truly a huge leap forward in stability, functionality and performance.
3.0 New Feature Highlights*
- File and Folder Excludes
Exclude files and folders by browsing your files and selecting Files and folders that you want to exclude from your backups. Define complex exclude rules using patterns. e.g. *.log
- All new Disk Safe with built-in on-disk journaling for fast industrial strength crash recovery
We have built a new Disk Safe storage engine from the ground up incorporating proven journaling methods so your data is always there all the time no matter how tough your environment is. The new Disk Safe also uses a completely new on disk format and the data storage engine is all new and implemented in low level C providing ultra-fast backup and restore performance.
- The New R1Soft Disk Safe is fast and flexible
Copy Disk Safes between CDP installations. Move them around. Take them with you. Disk Safes can now be moved and copied just like regular files and they always contain everything you need to restore. You can even take your disk safe with you on a thump drive for ultimate portability!

New CDP network protocol moves data across the network during backup and restore with new TCP keep-alives. It will do its best to keep going in all but the most serious network interruptions.
