MySql Restore Fails With Internal Error ./var/lib/mysql/mysql/db.frm Not Found
Symptom:
When attempting to restore MySQL databases using the MySQL Add-On module in version 2.9 of theCDP Server, the following error is generated:
Cause:
R1Soft has acknowledged this issue as a known bug in version 2.9 of the CDP Server.
Resolution:
This issue has been fixed in CDP Server version 2.11 and newer. Before upgrading, please consider KB article #128 regarding agent compatibility for the 2.11 release.
Current Workaround:
For emergency restores, and cases where an upgrade is not feasible, it is possible to restore these database files from the file browser. The MySQL AddOn is necessary to make sure that the MySQL data that we are backing up is consistent, but we are still backing up the databases at the filesystem level. To manually restore these tables, browse the DiskSafe to find these three files for the database you want to restore:
Check the boxes next to the files to be restored, and select the File Restore option. That should get things back up and running. If you have any questions, please contact the R1Soft Technical Support team at http://support.r1soft.com.
