Windows Agent Utility Won't Run Under Vista

Symptom

Vista will not run the Agent utility completely, and causes an error.

Cause

Vista UAC does not allow standard users to execute commands that affect system resources.

Resolution

Go to the start menu and right-click on the R1soft Agent Utility, and use "Run as Administrator".
Although it is possible to disable the UAC (User Access Control) in Vista, this may cause other problems such as leaving the system vulnerable to rootkit infestation and other unauthorized changes. Running as Administrator will allow running the Agent Utility without compromising the system.
