I have started to use the CDP Server and currently I'm running backups to my Windows and Linux machines.

I would like to take the backup of my machines and try to restore it from Bare Metal, but I would like to do so at home not at my workplace. How can I take the backups with me?
If I use the boot CD, will it be possible for me to restore directly from an external drive?
