CDP Enterprise Edition for Windows is cross-platform, high performance backup software. With CDP Enterprise Edition, you can manage data protection for both Windows and Linux environments, all from one user interface and into one disk-based data repository.

Installing the CDP Enterprise Server on a Windows Server allows you to protect data on both Windows and Linux CDP Agents. All features available for both Windows and Linux are available regardless of the operating environment you choose for your CDP Enterprise Server repository.

Below you can find requirements for a Linux Backup Repository (CDP Server).

Hardware

Notice
A 64-bit Linux operating system is highly recommended. Due to the limitations of the 32-bit address space, 32-bit CDP Enterprise Servers are limited to a maximum of two (2) simultaneous backup tasks.
Hardware Requirements
Physical Memory Minimum 2 GB (8 GB+ Recommended)
Free Disk Space Minimum 10 GB (100 GB+ Recommended) for CDP Enterprise Server Installation
Note
Replication and file restore reports are stored in the installation directory. Storage space required depends on how long reporting history is retained and how frequently policies and file restores are run.
Primary Storage Types Directly Attached Storage
Including:
IDE, SATA, SCSI, SAS, ISCSI, Fibre Channel,
Dynamic Disks (Software RAID), Hardware RAID,
Solid State Drives (SSD)
Virtualization
MS Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer 5, Xen Source Hypervisor
Note
For best performance, install the CDP Enterprise Server repository on dedicated physical hardware.
Disk Safe Locations Directly Attached Storage, Network Attached Storage
Including:
IDE, SATA, SCSI, SAS, ISCSI, Fibre Channel,
Dynamic Disks (Software RAID), Hardware RAID,
Solid State Drives (SSD),
NFS
Notes
  • If using NFS on Linux, R1Soft recommends that you use the latest available NFS versions and the latest stable Linux kernels, and that you never export NFS file systems to where you store Disk Safes with the "async" option.
  • We are unable to support FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) file systems.
  • Disk Safes must be located on an Ext3, Ext4, or ReiserFS file system to be eligible for Multi-Point Replication.

Disk Safe Storage Minimum 1x Primary Storage* (Recommended 2-4x Primary Storage of Agents)
*with compression enabled
