Buddy Drop Release Notes - 3.12.4

Introduction:

This is a targeted release to address a small number of customers seeing backup failures on 2.6.38 kernels and devices with 1K sectors. The release also addresses a MySQL connection pool issue that caused  intermittent connection loss between Data Center Console and CDP.

Issues Targeted in this Buddy Drop:

• Backups failing on devices with 1K sectors
• Backups failing on 2.6.38 Kernels
• MySQL connection loss between Data Center Console and CDP

Installation/Upgrade notes :

For the AGENT installation:

Unzip from tarball, or download, the four needed rpm packages.

1. r1soft-setup-[version].[arch].rpm
2. r1soft-cdp-agent-[version].[arch].rpm
3. r1soft-cdp-enterprise-agent-[version].[arch].rpm
4. r1soft-cdp-async-agent-2-6-[version].[arch].rpm

Latest version for the agent is 3.12.4 build 15152

New Fresh Install:

cd to the location of the downloaded rpm packages

rpm -ivh *.rpm

Upgrade Install From a Previous Agent Version:

/etc/init.d/cdp-agent stop

cd to the location of the downloaded rpm packages

rpm -Uvh *.rpm

For the MODULE installation: ( Once the agent is successfully installed )

r1soft-setup --get-module --custom-version 4.2.1-15154

To VERIFY that the installed versions are correct:

Agent:

/usr/sbin/r1soft/bin/cdp -v

(R1Soft CDP Agent) version 3.12.4 build 15152

Module:

modinfo /lib/modules/r1soft/hcpdriver*

Validate that the version is: 4.2.1 build 15154

What To Do If You Find An Issue in This Buddy Drop  

1. Logon to the support portal http://support.r1soft.com 
    
2. Create a new issue.  Enter CDP 3 for the version.
