Server Backup Manager is cross-platform, high performance backup software. Installing Server Backup Manager on a Linux machine allows you to protect data on both Linux and Windows servers through installed Backup Agents. All features for both Linux and Windows are available regardless of the operating environment used for your Server Backup Manager repository.

Server Backup Manager for Linux includes the following system requirements:

Hardware

Hardware Requirements
Linux Kernel current 64 bit Linux kernel
Physical Memory 16 GB of RAM minimum plus 1 GB RAM per protected machine
CPU 4 CPU cores minimum, recommended 1 core for each concurrent disk safe task (set in manager options)
Free Disk Space Minimum 200 GB for the Server Backup Manager installation
Note
Replication and file restore reports are stored in the installation directory. Storage space required depends on how long reporting history is retained and how frequently policies and file restores are run.

Disk Safe Locations Directly Attached Storage, Network Attached Storage including:
IDE, SATA, SCSI, SAS, ISCSI, Fibre Channel, Dynamic Disks (Software RAID), Hardware RAID, Solid State Drives (SSD), NFS
Notes

  • If using NFS on Linux, R1Soft recommends that you use the latest available NFS versions and the latest stable Linux kernels, and that you never export NFS file systems to where you store Disk Safes with the "async" option.
  • We are unable to support FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) file systems.

For more information, see our Disk Safe Best Practices

Disk Safe Storage Recommended 2-3x  Storage Capacity of Protected Machines
