  Those days are history.  Define one Data Protection Policy that optionally contains: Minutely, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly Archiving Rules.

Every archive rule creates a new recovery-point (based on most recent synchronization).
Archiving never requires additional synchronizations and Archiving takes place instantly - there are never any delays or queuing to create an archive.
