System Requirements - Databases

The Backup Agent is used to protect any number or combination of database instances (including MySQL, SQL Server, and MS Exchange). MySQL is the world's most used open source relational database management system. It runs as a server, providing multi-user access to a number of databases. Requirements for protecting MySQL databases are provided below.

Microsoft Exchange Server is the server side of a collaborative application product developed by Microsoft. The following versions are supported:

* Exchange Server 2013
* Exchange Server 2010
* Exchange Server 2007

Not supported:
* Exchange Server 2003

* MSDE (SQL Server 2000 version of SQL Express) or anything prior to 2005
* Object (e.g. table) level restore
* Support for Active/Active SQL Server Clusters
* Log Shipping
* Backup of a selection of individual databases (the feature will be added in the future)
* MS Exchange 2003
